Re: Clean Up Newsreader
That doesn't work as one would expect from the descriptions on that page.
What do you want to do exactly? Remove all messages older than a week for
instance?
Highlight the newest message you want to delete and scroll down to the
oldest and hold down the Shift key while you click it. This highlights all
the messages in-between and tapping Delete removes them.
You can also choose random messages by holding gown the Ctrl key while you
click on each message to highlight them.
You can also make a News Rule:
Where the message was sent more than days ago
Delete it & Stop processing more rules
Select the number of days you want
This rule must be applied manually. (Apply Now).
Whatever you do to remove the messages, be sure to compact when you're done.
Click on Outlook Express at the top of the folder tree so no folders are
open. Then: File | Work Offline (or double click Working Online in the
Status Bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until
the compacting is completed.
