You set a monitor up to match the number of pixels, not the physical
size, then look at sub-pixel anti-aliasing the fonts for LCDs. The
'96dpi' for example was always a rough estimate, considered equivalent
to 100dpi. A few percent error in physical size does not make for
blurred text, setting the wrong number of pixels will. It's that simple.
