Try unselecting all of the optional Startup services, in kcontrol/KDE Components/
Service Manager, and reenable only the ones you find help, in your day to day
use.
I also disable mdkapplet, kerry/beagle, and draksnapshot-applet.

Try it with "pasuspender -- realplay", which disables pulseaudio, just
for that application.
