How to register or update the Navlucbk.dll file
Situation: You are having problems with LiveUpdate or your Norton AntiVirus subscription, and you were instructed to register or update Navlucbk.dll. Solution: Skip to the section pertaining to your operating system. Windows 95/98/Me If NAV is installed by itself, and not as part of SystemWorks: Select the following line of text: regsvr32 "c:\program files\norton antivirus\navlucbk.dll" Click Edit, and then click Copy. This copies the text to the Windows Clipboard. If NAV is installed as part of SystemWorks: Select the following line of text: regsvr32 "c:\program files\norton systemworks\norton antivirus\navlucbk.dll" Click Edit, and then click Copy. This copies the text to the Windows Clipboard. Windows NT/2000 If NAV is installed by itself, and not as part of SystemWorks: Select the following line of text: regsvr32 "c:\program files\navnt\navlucbk.dll" Click Edit, and then click Copy. This copies the text to the Windows Clipboard. If NAV is installed as part of SystemWorks: Select the following line of text: regsvr32 "c:\program files\norton systemworks\navnt\navlucbk.dll" Click Edit, and then click Copy. This copies the text to the Windows Clipboard. Windows XP If NAV is installed by itself, and not as part of SystemWorks, or, if you have both SystemWorks and Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall installed: Select the following line of text: regsvr32 "c:\program files\norton antivirus\navlucbk.dll" Click Edit, and then click Copy. Click Start, and then click Run. The Run dialog box appears. Right-click in the Open box, and then click Paste. The text that you copied from step 1 appears. Click OK. If you are having subscription problems it is necessary to obtain Symantec program updates and the file Lrsetup.exe. Because simply replacing the file Lrsetup.exe alone will usually not fix subscription problems, please read the document, How to fix subscription problems. If you are not having subscription problems, start NAV and then run LiveUpdate. NOTE: If when you click OK in step 4, you see the message "Load Library Failed," follow these steps: Close all of the programs that are running in the background. For instructions on how to do this, see the document How to close open programs. Click Start, and then click Run. The Run dialog box appears. Right-click in the Open box, and then click Paste. The text that you copied from step 1 appears. Click OK. Start NAV, and then run LiveUpdate. Support Tip: If you are troubleshooting a LiveUpdate or subscription problem with a Symantec technician, please inform the technician that you have followed the previous steps.
