Look at your AIM Buddy list. Notice that annoying flashing ad banner right above your list of friends. Well now you can remove it and gain a large amount of space for viewing the list of your friends and also escape the harassing popup ads and annoying sound movie banners. So lets get started.

Step 1: First you need to close AIM. When that’s done download the AIM Resource Hacker. You can get it by clicking Here. Don’t worry it’s perfectly clean and extremely Small (542k)

Step 2: Extract the ZIP file’s contents and Open ResHacker.exe


Step 3: Click File, Then Select Open. Go into the directory where your AIM is installed. Usually C:\Program Files\AIM95\ and select the file AimRes.dll and click Open


Step 4: A list will populate in the left side of the program. Expand the Dialog Tree and select the Folder 323. It should expand to one object like pictured below. Click that object. A Dialog Box that resembles your buddy list will popup.


Step 5: Notice the box at the top of the buddy list where the Ads normally show up. Right click it, and delete it. Underneath the box you just deleted will be another identical box. Delete it also. Your dialog box should now look like this


Step 6: Now click anywhere in the list of folders on the left hand side. A box will come up asking you if you want to recompile. Click Yes


Step 7: Click File and then Save and you are done. Open up aim and see the greatness. The Buddy list will have expanded to the top of your aim window making your list extremely viewable.
