Security was removed from 2007 not because it is buggy, but because it does
not really provide much security and has given some users a false sense of
being secured.

Something can work as intended and still become outdated. There are
countless examples of technologies that have been replaced by other
technologies. This does not mean the earlier versions had "bugs".
