combining data in one column
I have a table with three county fields: county 1, county 2, and county 3.
I want my reports to print out data if it is in county 1 and/or county 2 and/or county 3. Is there a way to do this without setting up multiple tables? Right now I have only 1 table. |

You really need to normalize the data into THREE tables: a table of your current items; a table of Counties; and a third table to resolve the many to many relationship, with fields for the primary key of your table and the name or primary key (FIPS code??) of the county. With your current non-normalized design you should be able to apply a criterion under each of the three county fields, on separate lines in the query grid to use OR logic. Will you have one or multiple counties in your criteria? -- John W. Vinson [MVP] |

Re: combining data in one column
Yes, I would have more than one county.
