Help with formula
I have 2 pages
Page 1 is booking form In page 2 I am doing this ='Booking Form '!J11 This refers to a name on the booking form, however it shows ='Booking Form '!J11 instead of John Smith. This works ok for the other cells. What am I doing wrong? On page 2 I press = and then click on the cell J11 on the `booking form` page and press enter. thanks |

Re: Help with formula
It sounds like the cell is formatted as TEXT. Change the format to GENERAL.
Then, just double click on the cell in question then hit ENTER and it should be Ok. -- Biff Microsoft Excel MVP "S" <virgin@blueyonder.co.uk> wrote in message news:qu1Wj.17022$66.9707@newsfe20.ams2... >I have 2 pages > Page 1 is booking form > In page 2 I am doing this ='Booking Form '!J11 > This refers to a name on the booking form, however it shows ='Booking Form > '!J11 instead of John Smith. > > This works ok for the other cells. > What am I doing wrong? Re: Help with formula
Hello there.
Two things. 1) The cell is formatted as text. (change the cell formatting) and or there is a ' key just before the = sign. 2) Your formula view is showing? Hold down CTRL and hit the grave accent key = ` (usually found under the ESC key). Other then that, based on the information provided not really sure... Hope that helps. -Imonit On May 12, 4:10*pm, "S" <vir...@blueyonder.co.uk> wrote: > I have 2 pages > Page 1 is booking form > In page 2 I am doing this * *='Booking Form '!J11 > This refers to a name on the booking form, however it shows ='Booking Form > '!J11 *instead of John Smith. > > This works ok for the other cells. > What am I doing wrong? Re: Help with formula
I have tried all that is suggested but still no Joy, I tried the grave
accent key and this shows all the formulas to be the exact same in other cells (apart from cell number change). It is still showing the formula view, I have also checked the formatting of the cell.(general) I am doing everything exactly as I am doing for other cells but still wont work. Re: Help with formula
After re-formatting the cell to General, you must re-enter the formula.
