Excel 2007 - connect range to external data source

When I use query to connect to an external ODBC data source a table is
automatically created. I really don't want a table, I just want a data range
that can be refreshed. If I convert the table to a data range, the
query/connection information is deleted. How can I connect a data range to
the ODBC source?

RE: Excel 2007 - connect range to external data source

Hi there,

Just wondering if you ever managed to resolve this issue, I have just
noticed this issue having recently started using 2007 with external links.
Never had this problem in 2003. It stops me from being able to use the
subtotal function.

regards

RE: Excel 2007 - connect range to external data source

I ended up creating a QueryTable with VBA which worked fine.
