Excell 2007 Error Loading Phantom Add-in
I keep getting an error on startup the Excel 2007 can't load a toolbar
item. The toolbar item then shows up in Excel's Add-Ins. The software (TextBridge Pro) was unistalled. The add-in doesn't show up in Excel's Add-In Options. Here's what I've done to try to get rid of the error. - Right click on the toolbar icon and selected Delete. Excel deletes the icon off the toolbar telling me it cannot be recovered, but it comes back when I restart Excel. - Reinstall the software. Excel reports the error and responds the same as above. Deinstall the software. - Search the Registry (HKLM and HKCU) for any mention of the string "textbridge" and "bridge". No hits. TextBridge didn't seem to leave an remnants behind. - Searched the Registry in both HKLM and HKCU for Software|Microsoft| Office|ExcelAddins. None found. Any ideas short of reinstalling Office (which I'm not going to do)???? |

Re: Excell 2007 Error Loading Phantom Add-in
>>I keep getting an error on startup the Excel 2007 can't load a toolbar

A pre-Excel 2007 add-in or workbook that tries to customize a toolbar or menu will automatically have its effects sent to the Add-ins tab, without any error messages if it's operating correctly. There are several ways for an add-in or workbook to load with Excel. One is if it appears in the add-ins list under Office menu, Excel Options, Add-ins. If you see it there in the active add-ins section you should be able to make it inactive. In addition, an add-in or workbook will load if it is in either XLSTART folder. One XLSTART folder is under the Office install folder and the other is here (under Windows XP): C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART Lastly, files in the "At startup, open all files in" location, if one is designated, in Excel Options, Advanced, load at startup. I'd check all these options for unwanted workbooks or add-ins. -- Jim <hurricane1951@gmail.com> wrote in message news:e7f8a80e-38fa-4b24-b88d-383533c662d1@l8g2000prm.googlegroups.com... >I keep getting an error on startup the Excel 2007 can't load a toolbar > item.
