LookUp
Hi All,
Apologies if the below is confusing... I have an excel application with which I need help.I have a workbook with two sheets. On worksheet 1 ,on Col A (Roc),daily codes are imported from an external source and the Col B(TIN) contains the local codes which are derived from Col A using some formula. I also have a query which downloads all the Roc codes from an Oracle DB into col A of worksheet 2. What I need to do is match the Roc codes in col A of worksheet 2 with the Roc codes in Col A of Worksheet 1 and populate the Col B on worksheet 2 with TIN codes of Col B in worksheet 1. Finally I update the DB with the populated TIN codes on Col B of worksheet 2. Thanks, Roy |

Re: LookUp
Put the folllowing formula in column B in worksheet 2 (Cell B1 and
copy it to cells below for all rows which have corresponding data in col A) =VLOOKUP(A1,Sheet1!A$1:B$5,2,) Change lookup array size as per your requirements HTH Regards, Anirudh On Jan 15, 2:05*am, Roy <praish1...@yahoo.com> wrote: > Hi All, > > Apologies if the below is confusing... > > I have an excel application with which I need help.I have a workbook > with two sheets. On worksheet 1 ,on Col A (Roc),daily codes are > imported from an external source and the Col B(TIN) contains the local > codes which are derived from Col A using some formula. > > I also have a query which downloads all the Roc codes from an Oracle > DB into col A of worksheet 2. > What I need to do is match the Roc codes in col A of worksheet 2 with > the Roc codes in Col A of Worksheet 1 and populate the Col B on > worksheet 2 with TIN codes of Col B in worksheet 1. > > Finally I update the DB with the populated TIN codes on Col B of > worksheet 2. > > Thanks, > > Roy |
