Word wrap in excel?

Hi,

Is there word wrap functionality in excel?

If in cell A1 I have a string of text say 5000 chars long,
Is there functionality in excel to wrap this text around when the text
reaches the vertical page break?

Thanks,
DK

You can certainly wrap text in a cell or a group of merged cells, but not
otherwise AFAIK....

Re: Word wrap in excel?

David

If you read Excel help on specifications you will find that a cell can hold
32767 characters but only about 1000 will be visible or can be printed.

You can increase this limit by adding linefeeds every 80-100 characters by Alt +
ENTER but there still is some limit to the amount of text that will show or be
printed.

In answer to your original question, No, you cannot wrap text in a cell across
pages.

If you were to merge some cells, a page-break can occur in the middle of the
merged cells but merging cells won't get you any more text than a single cell.
