Why Guick Tabs in the Internet Explorer 7 don't work after upgrade
I have windows XP sp2 and I downloaded and upgraded the old IE6sp2 with
IE7.0.5730.13. After installation Tabs do not work and are nowhere. Ctrl-t is gray and Ctrl-q not responding (not active). When I do a right click on a hyper link, the New Tab option is not there. I clicked Tools> Internet Options> General Tab> Tabs> settings, and by default things are: Checked> Enable Tabbed Browsing Checked> Warm me when closing multiply Tabs Checked> Enable Quick Tabs Checked> Open new tabs next to the current tab Checked> Always open pop-ups in a new window Checked> A new tab in the current window Also I re-installed xmllitesetup.exe one more time and nothing happened. No change at all. I also reboot the computer 2 times to take place all changes and no changes again. Over the Internet people have the same problem like I do and there is no solution at all so far. What Microsoft is doing about it? Is it care about it or Not? |

Re: Why Guick Tabs in the Internet Explorer 7 don't work after upgrade
You may have a horked (dirty; bad; flawed) install of IE7. I suggest that
you... 1. Uninstall IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6) EXACTLY per http://www.ie-vista.com/kbase2.html 2a. Uninstall all toolbars and third-party Windows Themes (including Window Blinds). 2b. Disable all Norton Add-ons, if applicable. 3. Reinstall IE7 EXACTLY per http://www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html#pre-install, and using http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/default.mspx as the installation source, not Automatic/Windows Update. Tip: Save the installer to your desktop, do not Run it. 4. IMMEDIATELY go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and install any critical updates offered. If a "Root Certificates" update is listed in the Optional category, you might install it, too, to take full advantage of IE7's additional security.
