VISTA & upgrading downloaded programs
Hia,
We have a problem in VISTA which we haven't encountered with previous Win OS. We have very few VISTA users for the moment but momentum is growing. We have an application that require ActiveX engines downloaded from a central server to run and , inevitably there's a learning curve. In previous versions of Win OS it was relatively easy to delete the old drivers via the - Internet Browser - Temporary Internet Files - View Objects then Delete the objects in question. In Vista we can see the objects, we can select them, but we can't delete them. What's the best practice here? -- CoolAid |

Re: VISTA & upgrading downloaded programs
Hi CoolAid,
You can manage your downloaded ActiveX controls from the Manage Add-ons control panel applet. Open the applet and select "Downloaded Active X Controls" from the Show selection list. Some controls like the Windows Update control will not be able to be deleted (Delete button becomes enabled whhen the control is selected) You can also disable selected controls for troubleshooting purposes. I suppose that this method of management is more appropriate because downloaded controls are only supposed to run within the browser process. Regards.
