IE7 does not allow printing on windows vista
I am not able to print any page from Internet Explorer 7. The printe queue is
empty after pressing "PRINT" in IE7. The OS is Windows VISTA Home Premium. This is not a problem with other applications. For example, I am able to print from Firefox2 and Office Word 2007. Saw similar posts with HP printers. My printer is Canon. I will really appreciate any helps. |

Re: IE7 does not allow printing on windows vista
Hi,
Has this printer ever worked with IE7 on Vista? Have you checked for updated printer software? See if you can print with Protected Mode disabled. From Internet Options> Security> Internet Zone, uncheck "Enable Protected Mode." Re: IE7 does not allow printing on windows vista
Thanks Don, the print issue is resolved after the Protected Mode is disabled :)

Re: IE7 does not allow printing on windows vista
Hi,
The fact that you can print with Protected Mode disabled probably indicates that the Low folder which should be at C:/Users/your username/AppData/Local/Temp/Low has been deleted by a third-party cleanup program or even Vista's Disk Cleanup. The Low folder is necessary to print from IE when running IE in Protected Mode. You can re-create this folder so that Protected Mode can be re-enabled. Follow these instructions from MVP Bill Castner to recreate that folder and give it the required integrity level: - - - 1. Create a Low folder at C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Temp\Low 2. Start, Run, and enter in the box: (copy & paste or type carefully - change "YourName" to the account name) icacls C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Temp\Low /setintegritylevel (OI)(CI)low (There is a space between "setintegritylevel" and (OI) ) Hit Ctrl+Shift+Enter to run the command with Administrator priviliges. - - - In the future, don't allow third-party cleanup programs or Vista's Disk Cleanup to clean the Temp folder. Clean it manually.
