I have three security updates that will not install. They are: Cumulative
Update for IX7 for WXP (kb944533), Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool
March 2008 (kb890830) and Microsoft. NET Framework 2.0 SP1 (kb110806). I also
have a problem with Windows Defender for the definitions and I also have a
Security Symbol on the off popsition on my computer when shutting down. I
have contacted Microsoft about this. They gave me some big long link to go to
and it did not make any sense to me when I got there. Does any one have any
suggestions?

Error message(s)?

What link did Microsoft give you?
What firewall, anti-virus application or security suite is installed? There
are some that cause problems which do not appear immediately.

Tip: Temporarily disable real-time protection by your anti-virus and/or
anti-spyware applications (e.g., CounterSpy, Spysweeper, Spybot Tea Timer,
AVG Anti-Spyware) and/or any third-party firewall (e.g., ZA) before
attempting to install the update(s). If you disable the third-party
firewall, make certain that you enable the Windows Firewall!
