MS.com sites default to France

Suddenly a couple of days ago, when I click on a link to a Microsoft website,
I am often routed to a Microsoft.fr webpage. This happens not only when I
click on links at search sites such as Google, but also sometimes when I
click on Favorite links to (formerly) MS.com us sites.

I checked and my language and country are still US and English. Granted, I
do visit some French websites occasionally, but I can think of nothing I've
done to make this a default choice.

It's absolutely maddening to be looking for a knowledge base article and
have it appear in French. And once on the French website, I can't find a
link to the US website or to the English-language version of the article.

Any suggestions for remedying the problem? I don't think there's any way
that I can get tech support on this from MS.

Re: MS.com sites default to France

Thanks, that did it.

I first tried selectively deleting MS cookies, but must have missed some, so
I deleted all cookies and history and the Favorites folder containing my MS
links, to boot. (Fortunately, I had "uncorrupted" bookmarks on another
computer.)
