Schockwave Player versus IE7 - Incompatibility?

Hello
I have a recent PC, with Windows Vista Premium Home 32 bits Edition. And, of
course, I have IE version 7.
I've noticed that, in some sites that I know and usually trust, to see
certain animation clips or to play some games, it is requested to install the
latest version of the Schockwave Player (I believe that it is the version 11).
I don't have any older version of Shockwave Player installed on my PC; I
would like to know if any of you already installed this software and if you
have experienced any incompatibility with IE.
And I also would like to know two more things, in case I install the
Shockwave Player and something goes wrong:
- is this software easy to remove, like a simple IE add-on?
- before I install it, if I create a restore point and make a copy of the
registry, would that be enough to protect my Windows and PC from future
crashes and instability that this software may cause?

Thanks in advance

Yes, Version 11.0.0.429 is the latest release of the Shockwave Player.
Released to the public on 3/25/2008.

I have the latest version of the Shockwave Player installed here on two
machines, one running Windows XP with IE6 and one running Windows XP with
IE7. No problems with the Player on either machine here.

You can download the latest Shockwave Player online at the following Adobe
site:
Online Installation:
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/

Or if you prefer to download the Manual setup file and run it directly from
you machine, you can download the setup file directly from Adobe here:

Installer Full Version:
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get...aller_Full.exe

Or, you can download the manual setup file from FileHippo:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_shockwave/

Note: Be sure to uncheck the Google Toolbar during installation if you
don't want it installed along with the Shockwave Player.

You should be able to uninstall it easily from "Programs and features" in
Windows Vista(Add||Remove Programs for Windows XP). You can also uninstall
it by using the "Unwise.exe" from the main install folder:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Adobe\Shockwave 11

There is also a Manual Shockwave Player Uninstaller Utility available from
adobe at the following link:
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get...ninstaller.exe

Creating a Restore Point before installing the Shockwave Player wouldn't
hurt you:o)

If you have any further questions about the Shockwave Player, you can direct
them to the Adobe Shockwave Player Forum here:

Good luck,
