Internet Explorer preloads my photos, can I stop this from happeni
I have created my new website for my photography company using Adobe
Dreamweaver. The test site is http://www.ecdillc.com/ecp/elkcreekphotography.html When I test my new site in the Firefox browser, it works exactly as I expected it to. The Firefox browser loads the home page fast in about 8 seconds. When I select on one of the photo related tabs, then, and only then, do the photos get loaded for viewing. When I run the same test on Internet Explorer, IE preloads all of the photos before displaying the home page. The website can take anywhere from 35 seconds to 120 seconds to load depending on the ISP provider speed. I want IE to stop preloading the photos and run the same way Firefox does. Is there anything I can do to prevent IE from loading the photos and waiting until an individual page is selected before photos are downloaded?? Please note, I am NOT looking for a critique of the website or website design. I just want to know if IE is capable of providing functionality equivalent to that offered by Mozilla Firefox. Daniel P. Re: Internet Explorer preloads my photos, can I stop this from happeni
Hi,
I think this is a Dreamweaver issue, not an IE issue. You might try the Dreamweaver forum http://www.adobe.com/support/forums/ Only a wild guess, because I used Dreamweaver only briefly a few years ago, but I'm wondering if IE is honoring the preload images tag and Fx is not. (from the source code) <BODY BGCOLOR=#000000 onLoad="MM_preloadImages('Images/dpr@HL.jpg','Images/Printroom Elk Creek Photography Link Highlight.jpg')"> Hope this helps, Don [MS MVP- IE] "Elk Creek Photography" <ElkCreekPhotography@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:6F228FF9-AA2A-49B9-801E-8EB91CDF227A@microsoft.com... > I have created my new website for my photography company using Adobe > Dreamweaver.
