What does Internet explorer 7.0 do, when IE does nothing?
What does Internet explorer 7.0 do, when IE does nothing? When IE finished
loading www pages and IE does nothing, IE is still working. When I start Task List and Task Manager and I see list of running processes. I found process ieplore.exe and I see big number 90-99 (%) in column CPU, CPU works near 100%. Computer works very slowly, when I run IE. When I close IE, computer works normally. I uninstalled IE 7.0. I tried IE 6, but my computer worked with 6.0 normally and fast. I install again IE 7.0 and computer still works with IE 7.0 slowly. I have Windows XP professional, service pack 2, Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.8 GHz, 512 MB RAM (free 150 MB RAM), 14.8 GB free space on harddisc. |

Re: What does Internet explorer 7.0 do, when IE does nothing?
1. Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode? To start
IE7 in No Add-ons mode: Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons; or Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No add-ons). Troubleshooting and Internet Explorer’s (No Add-ons) Mode: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2006/07/25/678113.aspx 2. Does the problem persist if you Reset IE7 Settings (RIES)? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737 <= Read before using! 3. If you uninstall (a) IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6), (b) all toolbars and (c) all third-party Windows Themes (including Window Blinds) and do NOT reinstall IE7, does this behavior persist? If it does, do NOT reinstall IE7. Uninstalling IE7 http://www.ie-vista.com/kbase2.html [Only use the Command %windir%\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe if you cannot uninstall via Add/Remove Programs!] [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927177] IE7 (Un)Installation and Anti-Malware Applications: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/200...lications.aspx 4. Required reading IMHO before reinstalling IE7: Sandi's Installation Tips <= Steps #1-8, #10 & #11; take note of #12, then STOP http://www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html#pre-install I strongly recommend using http://www.microsoft.com/windows/dow.../getitnow.mspx as the installation source, not Automatic/Windows Update. Tip: Save the installer to your desktop, do not Run it. Make *certain* that you check in at Windows Update immediately after reinstalling IE7 to install any critical updates offered. If Optional Updates category offers Root Certificates update, I recommend installing it to take full advantage of IE7's additional security. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Desktop Experience - since 2002 AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.net/ Frantisek Sokolovsky wrote: > What does Internet explorer 7.0 do, when IE does nothing? If you can reproduce this with IE8b1 you might have a hope of getting someone to look at it with a view to making a change; otherwise with IE7 you can only hope to find an explanation and a workaround. If it is really a reliably recreatable symptom please post a URL. The ones that I get are only intermittent, so the URLs are usually not significant.
