Can't change password at some sites.
Since I use IE7 I can't change passwords at some internetsites.
In that cases I receive a message that the old password should be wrong. But before that, I signed in with that old password without any problem. With IE6 I didn't have any problem, with Firefox I still don't have. Who can solve this problem? |

Use Notepad, enter your password, copy it, then paste it into the web form in IE7. If that works, you werent entering it correctly in IE7. Run IE7 in its no-addons mode. Run "<path>\iexplore.exe -extoff" or right-click on the desktop icon and select the no-addons mode. If that works, you have an add-on that you installed that is causing the problem. Reboot Windows into its safe mode. If that works, you have software that loads on normal Windows startup that is interferring with IE7. |

Often it is because IE7 defaults to disabled for the "Navigate sub-frames across domains" setting in the Internet security zone. However, it would be "strange" (i.e., suspicious) if a site were to have the login credentials go somewhere other than the site whose login page you were currently displaying. You could see what happens if you change this security setting to Prompt, or try moving the slider to lesser security for the Internet security zone (not a good idea), or try adding the domain (not a host but the wildcarded domain) to the Trusted Sites security zone (if you really trust them). Some sites won't work because they check which browser is connected to their site and accordingly use different script code on their page. They may not check for IE7 and instead refuse to handle any web browser that doesn't happen to be in their current list of browser types. You could try using Microsoft's User Agent String Utility available at their download site. That loads IE7 but has it report itself as IE6. |

Re: Can't change password at some sites.
I have reset all advanced internetoptions, including all add-on's, to
factory-settings. Next, I have activated it as previous. Since that moment I can change the passwords at both internetsites wich were previously wrong. I don't understand what was not correct before. But anyway, thanks for your help. "VanguardLH" wrote: > C. Smith wrote: > > > "VanguardLH" wrote: > > > >> C.
