SOLUTION TO BAD VERB PROBLEMS.

HI PLEASE READ FOR THE SOLUTION TO BAD VERB PROBLEMS.

THE PROBLEM DOES NOT EXIST WITHIN MOZILLA, FACEBOOK, MYSPACE. I HAVE
BEEN ADVISED NOT TO CARRY OUT REGISTRY CHANGES AS IT CAN WEAKEN
SECURITY AND THAT IS WHY MICROSOFT ADVISE NOT TO DO IT UNLESS YOU ARE
EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM. THEY JUST DONT WANT TO TELL YOU THAT.

THE PROBLEM COMES FROM A SOFTWARE CONFLICT BETWEEN NO OTHER THAN THE
NEW VERSION OF MSN MESSENGER OR ONE OF THE ADD ON'S AND VISTA THIS IS
CAUSING EXPLORER AND ANY INTERNET BASED PACKAGE TO RANDOMLY MIS-READ
HTTP ADDRESSES. IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR LOOKING AT OFTEN THE HTTP DOES
NOT HAVE A BAD VERB HENCE IT IS A MISREADING ERROR.

i HAD A CLEAN SYSTEM I DOWNLOADED MSN MESSENGER + ADD ONS AND THE
PROBLEM STARTED. I HUNTED AROUND FOR THE SOULTION TRIED EVERYTHING.
ANYWAY TRACKED THE PROBLEM BACK TO MESSENGER UNINSTALLED IT ALL AND
HEPRESTO IVE HAD NO PROBLEMS SINCE. I KNOW IT WILL BE A PAIN FOR ALL
YOU MSN ADICTS BUT TEACH MICROSOFT A LESSON AND JUST START USING SKYPE
OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. ITS ABOUT TIME THEY STOPPED RELASING CRAP
SOFTWARE FOR THE AMOUNT WE HAVE TO PAY.

LIKE ALL THE PROBLEMS WITH VISTA IF MICROSOFT HAD TESTED THE PRODUCT
PROPERLY BEFORE LAUNCH these problems would not exist

FINAL THOUGHT DO WHAT IM GOING TO DO WHEN I BUY MY NEXT SYSTEM GET A
MAC WHICH BIZZARELY IVE ALWAYS HATED BY THE NEW LEOPARD O/S IS GREAT -
I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD EVER SAY GET A MAC.

Re: SOLUTION TO BAD VERB PROBLEMS.

Perhaps if OP had not munged the error message ["Bad Request (Invalid Verb)"
....including the quotes] while he was SHOUTING, we might have had a better
idea of what he was referring to.

Other fuzziness in OP's post include:

.. When is the error encountered (e.g., attempting to access LiveID sign-in)?
.. What browser(s) & version(s) are being used if not IE7?
.. Assuming IE7, in what Security zone is webpage in question is running;
does the problem persist in No Add-ons mode, after a Reset, and/or in Safe
Mode with Networking?
.. What AV app, anti-spyware app(s), and/or third-party firewall are present?
.. Vista or Vista SP1? If the former, is KB828726 and/or KB942831 [1]
installed?
.. MSN Messenger [sic] or Windows Live Messenger & version of same?
.. What Add-ons had he "downloaded" (e.g., <spit> Messenger Plus)?
.. What other Add-ons are enabled in IE?
.. By any chance is he connecting via IIS 7.0?

Given the fact that (a) there have been all of four (4) threads about this
issue in MS newsgroups [2], (b) three (3) of them date from the last two (2)
weeks, and (c) that we know that there have been significant problems on the
MSN/Hotmail servers' end for the last two (2) weeks or more [3], this may
just be one of those mysterious MSN/Hotmail issues that automagically clear
up over time (i.e., in hours, days or weeks).

Windows Live Hotmail E-mail Support
https://support.live.com/eform.aspx?...ail&ct=eformts

NB: The Windows Live Mail Technologies team supposedly monitors
microsoft.public.internet.mail newsgroup for such MSN/Hotmail issues.

=============================
[1] I've got a feeling that KB828726 may have been pulled with the
(impending) release of KB942831.
