IE error message on startup
When starting XP home I get a dialogue box titled 'windows internet
explorer'. The text in the box is "-2146697208- the download of the specified resource has failed". Subsequently when I start IE7 I get a send error report box and explorer shuts down. Does anybody have a reason for this please. |

Malicious software such as viruses or spyware could be installed on your
computer. You may have to be more precise in your symptom description... <eg> <title>BUG: You may receive the 0x800c0008 error value when you submit a HTTPS POST request through the IMoniker::BindToStorage function and use the IStream interface to provide the HTTP POST data </title> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/906379/ (Link in <title>List of fixes that are included in Windows XP Service Pack 3</title> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946480/ found via Live Search for (800C0008 OR 0x800C0008) site:support.microsoft.com ) > Subsequently when I start IE7 I get a send error report box and explorer > shuts down. Does anybody have a reason for this please. What symptoms do you have then? E.g. capture the Error Signature. Hint: doubleclick on a word and press Ctrl-a, Ctrl-c, etc. HTH Robert Aldwinckle --- |
