IE7 email designation

Using Outlook Express 6 for awhile. IE7 allowed sending webpages via OE6
automatically. Now it doesn't. Looked at IE7 Tools/Internet
Options/Programs. The E-mail slot doesn't list OE6 as option; only Windows
Live Mail.
How can I restore OE6 as choice?

Not able to enter OE6 into the E-mail space.

Re: IE7 email designation

Hi gizzer1,

Outlook Express 6 must be your default E-mail Handler, in order to work
correctly.

Open Outlook Express. Click Tools then Options. Look at the bottom, Make
Default if not.

Did you install Windows Live Mail? If Windows Live Mail, removed the
links for Outlook Express, go to Add or Programs, Windows Components and
recheck Outlook Express and click Next. When installing Windows Live
Messenger, always install the program using the Custom Method, not Typical
Method, so you can see what happens.

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/defaultl.htm

Go to Start | Run and type this command, with the double quotes and spaces:

"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /reg

and then make sure that OE is selected as the default mail program in both
IE and OE.

If that isn't enough, see this article:
"Send To" and E-mail Links Do Not Work Using Outlook Express as Default:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306098

You might also want to try this:

Restores OE to the E-mail clients list in Internet Options
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/oe_client.htm

To set Outlook as the default mail client,- Go to Start, Run - Type in the
following with quotation marks and press OK
"C:\program files\microsoft office\office\outlook.exe" /checkclient
For more information on Outlook see:
