Re: Internet Explorer 7 Doesn't Seem To Have Improved
Twaddle...
I have all sorts of superb security from other products, specifically designed for those purposes. I do NOT need my browser to be trying to act as Universal Net Cop and Universal Net Nanny. My browser should integrate cleanly with the rest of the system. IE 6 DOES. IE 7 does NOT. So it was removed -- on each of three occasions... For being slow, hanging and not doing its job: Transparency Efficiency Speed Reliability Lack Of Nagging-Nanny Interruptions That's what we need in a browser. IE 7 seems still to be stuck at the 7.0.0 stage of development. So, fire or retire the IE 7 team and bring in a new one for IE 8. DSH Lux et Veritas et Libertas "N. Re: Internet Explorer 7 Doesn't Seem To Have Improved
Because IE 6 is an excellent piece of software, as now constituted.
Don't muck about with it. DSH "N. Miller" <anonymous@msnews.aosake.net> wrote in message news:v356bvfqjpod$.dlg@msnews.aosake.net... > On Tue, 25 Dec 2007 17:52:12 -0000, D. Spencer Hines wrote: > >> Twaddle... > > Why not just drop back to MSIE 5.5, 5.0, or even 4? |

The only time I ever saw a computer infected with malware, MSIE6 was the vector. And it fails the Acid2 test. Misearably. (Not that MSIE7 does better; but, currently, the only browser which passes the Acid2 test is Opera 9.25. A far better piece of work than you will ever see from Microsoft.) http://www.webstandards.org/action/acid2/ -- Norman ~Shine, bright morning light, ~now in the air the spring is coming. ~Sweet, blowing wind, ~singing down the hills and valleys. |
