IE7 not maintaining display of My Yahoo! home page

When I go to Yahoo and sign in, the home page appears then I get a small
window over top that says IE cannot open the website cm.my: .yahoo.com. After
clicking to close the small window, and click on the mail tab before the main
dissapears, I can read my mail and go anywhere on the site EXCEPT the MY
Yahoo! home page.

What gives?

Windows version?

Are you using a custom HOSTS file or are you using an anti-spyware
application (e.g., Spysweeper) that may have modified the HOSTS file?

No IE version includes a HOSTS file, standard or otherwise.

Rename C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\ETC\HOSTS <=this file (no extension; not
LMHOSTS) to HOSTS.OLD and see if the behavior persists.

I have never seen a Windows computer without a Hosts file unless someone
already renamed it.

I should have said "a customized HOSTS file". Still, the default HOSTS file
is created by Windows, not IE, yes?
