Re: Lost history since rebooting

Hi,
Which version of Windows?
Which version of Internet Explorer?

What's the setting for "Days to keep pages in History?"
A large History folder will be more prone to corruption.

Also did you by any chance set any tweak or program where there is an option as to "Empty IE History on Re Start or shutdown"

Re: Lost history since rebooting

No tweak. I still have history. Just not since I rebooted that one time.

Re: Lost history since rebooting

Hi,
What's the setting for "Days to keep pages in History?"
A large History folder will be more prone to corruption.

Did you install or update a security program just before this problem
started?

Have you tried clearing History from Internet Options> General> Browsing
History> Delete> (next screen)> Delete History?

Re: Lost history since rebooting

My days are 150 and that hasn't changed in months.
I downloaded Mozilla Thunderbird at the end of November. That's the only
change.
No, I have not tried to delete all my history. I was kind of hoping to
figure out the problem without doing that.
I just may have gotten myself corrupted. I've been wandering all over the
internet Christmas shopping. Who knows what I might have picked up. I do
have McAfee Security and all that stuff, though. Thanks for yours help...

RE: Lost history since rebooting

I have exactly the same problem. I shutdown on 24/12 and restarted the
computer on the 26/12 to find history no longer working. Previous history is
still shown but no new history being logged!

Re: Lost history since rebooting

Hi,
Windows XP or Vista?
How many days of history are you attempting to keep?

Possibilities:
1. A corrupted History folder
2. A third-party security program is blocking ActiveX controls
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;819257
3. A third-party program is interfering with the history function in some
other way

Hope this helps,
Don

RE: Lost history since rebooting

I ended up deleting all my temp internet files, all the cookies, and browsing
history. I still have the history that I had before rebooting. I don't have
the in-between history but I have history since. I also lowered my 'days to
keep pages in history'. Hope this helps you.
