Re: Internet speed
Hi,
If you mean 291 mbps (not 291 ms) according to http://www.matisse.net/bitcalc/?inpu...ation=lega cy (and other sites) 1 mb is 1024 kb therefore 291 mbps is 297984 kbps, or about 10 times faster than a 28k modem. 291 mbps is not an impressive download speed. It is an OK upload speed. Some budget/economy DSL plans limit download speed to 384 or 768 mbps. Starting point: http://compnetworking.about.com/od/d...f/dslspeed.htm Download speed can vary widely with different tests. Try more than one. http://home.cfl.rr.com/eaa/Bandwidth.htm Hope this helps, Don [MS MVP- IE] "forceten32" <forcex@mindspring.com> wrote in message news:et5C6suRIHA.5360@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > My mind is going. I can't translate 291 ms internet speed. Is that 2910 > kps? What is a reasonable range for a dsl connection? > > Thanks, > > Fred |
