Vista ie7 and ebay
Vista ie7 is not usable with ebay. Trying to display a list of items causes
it to crash. I downloaded Firefox with no display problems however when doing a print runor print preview not all pages are displayed. Any suggestions of how to make ie7 work with ebay? ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. Re: Vista ie7 and ebay
Never had any problems here. Check that your Java is the latest:
http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp and I'm not sure if they use Flash/Shockwave, but you might as well check that those are up to date: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/ Uninstall any old version via Start/Control Panel/Programs/Uninstall a Program. You also might want to ensure that IE7 is default settings by going to Tools/Internet Options/Advanced and click Reset, then reboot. You may have to re-enable some add-ons after doing that (Tools/Manage Add-Ons). -- Peter Toronto, Canada "lxhiss" <lxhiss@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:47E9E851-F37F-4FBB-A958-C68C032D5CB4@microsoft.com... > Vista ie7 is not usable with ebay. Your post contains a question, not a suggestion.
=> Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode? To start IE7 in No Add-ons mode: 1. Right-click on the blue IE desktop icon and select Start without Add-ons; 2. PA Bear > Your post contains a question, not a suggestion.
Perhaps this isn't the correct place to have this topic? or to post problems/bugs with IE7? But since the topic is already here, and the only hit on google for this issue, I'll add to it a bit... if it helps make the topic more relavent though I'll suggest the problem gets fixed ;-) lxhiss > Vista ie7 is not usable with ebay. Peter (paraphrased) > Check that your <add-ons are> the latest > You also might want to ensure that IE7 is default settings I also have issues with ebay and IE7 on Windows Vista. I've made sure that any add-ons such as the jre and any flash/shockwave etc are up to date, I've also tried running IE7 in no add-ons mode with no success, and made sure all settings were on default by using the reset procedure suggested. IE doesn't usually crash for me so much as become sluggish and stop responding (though I do not get the application has stopped responding dialogue). More specifically, the forward and back buttons stop working, I cannot open new tabs or switch between tabs, opening links becomes very sluggish (not a connectivity problem), and I cannot min/max/close IE. There may be other symptoms, but at this point it becomes too difficult to use IE and I must open the task manager to close the program. Interestingly enough, the forward and back options on the right-click menu will continue to work even though the gui buttons in the upper left do not. I do this until the right-click menu starts taking too much time to appear and then I'll give up... I seem to experience this problem more when logged into my account and opening up seller/buyer ratings in new tabs. The task manager reports that IE is using 60% of my CPU wich is an AMD X2 6000+ and approx 60mb of memory. The CPU usage seems a bit excessive, and the memory usage seems high for only having 2-3 tabs open. On sites where I don't have this issue, I have difficulty approaching 30% CPU usage, and can only mimmick the memory usage by opening up quite a few tabs. I've experienced this problem on 3 computers, on both 32 and 64 bit versions of Vista, including a fresh installation. |

Re: Vista ie7 and ebay
This may well be an eBay specific issue. The new site which is Beta is a
resource hog, at least from my experience. Most of the time, if I want to minimize, close, or go back to my home page, I have to wait for the site to settle down. eBay has a Post Questions link for the new site, and I made this comment to them a few months ago. No response. When in My eBay, See: Go to previous version of eBay and Opt Out. (You can always go back). See if this helps. I doubt it is an IE7 problem. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "mv" <mv@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F0FDE1E3-F5D9-4156-ACEE-BA41890EDC04@microsoft.com... > PA Bear > Your post contains a question, not a suggestion. > > Perhaps this isn't the correct place to have this topic? or to post > problems/bugs with IE7? Re: Vista ie7 and ebay
Thanks for the quick reply! I don't believe I'm currently using the beta
version of "My Ebay", but I'll certainly try to get into contact with them about the issue and see if that gets me anywhere. "Bruce Hagen" wrote: > This may well be an eBay specific issue.
