IE 6 proxy settings reverting to previous versions
All,
I have many users who are running IE 6 SP2 and randomly these users' proxy settings are changed back to a version they had before we fixed it for them. We are wondering if an update to IE 6 is being downloaded and possibly reverting the configuration of that person's IE back to the version they had before. Are the configuration settings like Advanced Proxy settings saved in a config file other than the registry? Would loading a new verison of another Microsoft product such as Outlook or Office cause the settings to revert back to an old version? Has anyone else seen this issue? Thanks, Dana Tate |

Re: IE 6 proxy settings reverting to previous versions
The reason I don't think it is a group policy is that it worked for over
three months in the changed format and was not converted back until we started pushing the new Office 2007 package to everyone. I have that question posed to our outsourced LAN team now though. Re: IE 6 proxy settings reverting to previous versions
One or more options/settings in an ever-growing number of third-party
applications may be disallowing the change(s) from "sticking". These include but are not limited to Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, Spybot Tea Timer, SpywareBlaster, SpySweeper, Spyware Doctor, Norton AntiVirus, McAfee VirusScan and/or Antispyware, and Zone Alarm (Free and Pro). -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.net/ Danatate wrote: > All, > I have many users who are running IE 6 SP2 and randomly these users' > proxy > settings are changed back to a version they had before we fixed it for > them. > We are wondering if an update to IE 6 is being downloaded and possibly > reverting the configuration of that person's IE back to the version they > had > before.
