I am running IE7 on a Vista platform and when I click on the program icon the
timer displays for a few seconds then disappears without executing the
program. This happens when the executable is accessed directly from its
location in the program files folder.
However if I select a web address from my recently visited sites IE runs
fine and will then run from the desktop icon until the computer is switched
off when it all starts again. The problem occurs for each user account.
Any ideas

What if you go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools |
Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
