AOL toolbar error message
a widow pops up whenever I open IE, "Cannot find
'file///C:Program%20Files/AOL%20Toolbar/welcome.html'. Make sure the path or internet address is correct." This message appears twice and then IE will not go to my home page unless I click the 'Home' button. I Have already uninstalled everything that has to do with AOL, is the something that I need to turn off that is still trying to access it? |

Stop using that shortcut or fix it. ; } Otherwise to avoid that symptom you could Run... (e.g. press Win-R and enter) iexplore.exe -nohome Hint: click the Stop button or press Ctrl-t to get out of the NoHome state. I'm suggesting you open IE without a Home page as a test just in case your Home page is part of the problem too. Alternatively, you could use Internet Properties to make your Home page about:Blank and then just Run... iexplore.exe without any command-line switches. HTH Robert Aldwinckle --- |
