How Can I Uninstall IE7?

We just bought a used Dell laptop. It has IE7 on it. I hate IE7. I hate
the tabbed browser, I hate the way the url is located above the command bar,
I hate the way I can't change it to the way I prefer it to look. Is it
possible to uninstall IE7 without destroying the system? If so, where can I
get a copy of IE6? When I went to the Microsoft website and searched, the
IE6 page redirects to the IE7 page. Very frustrating. Thanks for any help
you can offer!!

as posted MANY times daily on this group (you DID search first, didn't you?)
Go to Start-Control Panel-add/Remove Programs, uninstall, re-boot, and IE6
will be re-instated.

Windows version?
Assuming Windows Vista, you can't uninstall IE7 in Vista.

Re: How Can I Uninstall IE7?

Yes, I did search. LOL Actually I did a search on "Internet Explorer 7,"
and scanned all those entries. None of them dealt with uninstalling it, only
with various error message people had received.

Thanks, this is what I needed!!!

If it came with IE7 you can't go back to an earlier version.

Re: How Can I Uninstall IE7?

If it had Vista on it, I wouldn't have bought it. LOL I should have
specified, XP Pro with SP2. Thanks for your quick reply! Looks like, from
another very quick reply, it'll be an easy process to remove IE7. What a
relief!

INTERESTING!

So the poor blokes are LOCKED IN with IE 7.

That's ANOTHER Good Reason for not buying VISTA.

I'm a Microsoft stockholder and am appalled at these REALLY dumb marketing
and production decisions MS is making...

And the share price is suffering as the Market cries back "Get your heads
screwed on right and start producing quality software again -- software we
want to use, instead of this junk."

Re: How Can I Uninstall IE7?

I didn't like the look and feel of IE 7 either -- coupled with its other
failings.
