Is this an IE7 problem?
I have a new computer, using Windows Vista. I have a website that I can
access through my old computer, but not with this new computer. I am able to open the website's sign-on page, but when I try to sign-on, I get the following message...For your protection (IE) has logged you off. To continue using the website, please log in again. But, I can't log on at all. I have reset everying in 'IE Tools'. I have used the Utility to emulate IE6. I have put the website address on my Trusted Sites. I have tried other things I have found under Troubleshooting (that sounded like it might be the same problem I'm having)...all to no avail. After every try, I do reset so as to start fresh. Any one have a solution? Thanks. |

Re: Is this an IE7 problem?
Hi,
By "reset everying in 'IE Tools'" do you mean Internet Options> Advanced> Reset Internet Explorer Settings? Are there any sites in Restricted Sites? This still occurs with add-ons disabled? Is the IE Phishing Filter turned off? Are you sure this is block and message is coming from Internet Explorer, not a third-party program? Hope this helps, Don [MS MVP- IE] "Questions" <Questions@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:D27DD15B-9F98-4FDD-AD4E-C7DE21E833C6@microsoft.com... > I have a new computer, using Windows Vista. Re: Is this an IE7 problem?
Hi,
Yes, I reset in IE Tools, under Advanced and Browsing History. There are no sites listed in Restricted Sites. I tried turning off the IE Phishing Filter and Protection Mode. At the top of the box it says Windows Internet Explorer. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks "Don Varnau" wrote: > Hi, > By "reset everying in 'IE Tools'" do you mean Internet Options> Advanced> > Reset Internet Explorer Settings? > > Are there any sites in Restricted Sites? > > This still occurs with add-ons disabled? > > Is the IE Phishing Filter turned off? > > Are you sure this is block and message is coming from Internet Explorer, not > a third-party program? > > Hope this helps, > Don > [MS MVP- IE] > > "Questions" <Questions@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:D27DD15B-9F98-4FDD-AD4E-C7DE21E833C6@microsoft.com... > > I have a new computer, using Windows Vista. Re: Is this an IE7 problem?
Hi,
The site is www.my.tupperware.com and www.my2.tupperware.com (they're the same site). The log on page comes up, but when I try to log on, IE logs me out saying it's for my protection. It says to log back in to continue using the site, but it won't let me log in. This is the only website I can't access. And I need it for my business. Any ideas about what the problem might be? Re: Is this an IE7 problem?
In what security zone are you accessing those 2 websites? Are either of
them https:// pages? How familiar are you with UAC (User Account Control) and Privileges in Vista? What anti-virus application are you running? What anti-spyware application(s), other than Defender? Are you using a third-party firewall or the Windows Firewall? -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.net/ Questions wrote: > The site is www.my.tupperware.com and www.my2.tupperware.com (they're the > same site). Re: Is this an IE7 problem?
Hi,
It looks like both use http:// I am using AVG-Free for my anti-virus (I used that on my previous computer with no problem). As for firewall and anti-spyware, I believe I only have what came with the HP Computer/Vista. I have not installed Norton because I had problems with it with my previous computer (Dell/XP). Where do I look to see what I have? Or if I installed something that is not compatible...other than AVG, everything is through HP or Microsoft when I went through set up on the computer the first day. Thanks for your time and help with this problem. "PA Bear [MS MVP]" wrote: > In what security zone are you accessing those 2 websites? Check C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc for a file named HOSTS with no extension. (Not Hosts.sam) Make sure Windows is set to show hidden files and folders and is NOT set to hide extensions for known file types. If HOSTS exists, rename it to HOSTS.OLD Reboot an try again. Or, In a Cmd window, enter ipconfig /flushdns then clear your TIF also, and re-boot. -- Frank Saunders MS-MVP IE,OE/WM www.fjsmjs.com Do not reply with email |

Re: Is this an IE7 problem?
Hi,
Ok. I understood the first part. So, I'll try that first. Unfortunately, I didn't understand the 2nd part. I'll get back to you for further instructions, if the first part doesn't work. Thank You.
