Continual Hi jacking of my Internet Explorer 7
Hello:
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium Operating System and on a daily basis my Internet Explorer 7 is being hi jacked/hacked into. I have installed on my computer system: Windows Defender and I am using the Windows Firewall Program. I have installed for my anti virus/firewall program/ Norton Protection Center and still my Internet Explorer 7 is being hi jacked on a daily basis. How can I better protect my Internet Explorer 7 from being hi jacked on a daily basis? Thank You, |

Suggest you install all the following programs as well to find spyware: Ad-Aware Spybot Super AntiSpyware From the sounds of it, you have spyware which is resistant to the tools you now have. |

Re: Continual Hi jacking of my Internet Explorer 7
He only has Defender and Norton's, he didn't say he had any real security
tools to start with. :-D Couldn't help it, sorry. Even so, the parent's reply is completely correct. I'd also try AVG Antispyware. I can vouch for Spybot and AdAware, not the other. I can say that AVG generally gets more stuff out these days than Spybot and Adaware. One thing you might do is tell us what you mean by 'hijacked'. And not once did you describe what happens which YOU suspect means your browser is hijacked. PopUps, change in proxy, redirected to different web pages, mouseover events, what? |

Explain what "hijacked" means to you and how you've determined the machine's
been hijacked or hacked. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.net/ Sidney wrote: > Hello: > > I am running Windows Vista Home Premium Operating System and on a daily > basis my Internet Explorer 7 is being hi jacked/hacked into. > > I have installed on my computer system: Windows Defender and I am using > the > Windows Firewall Program. > > I have installed for my anti virus/firewall program/ Norton Protection > Center and still my Internet Explorer 7 is being hi jacked on a daily > basis. > > How can I better protect my Internet Explorer 7 from being hi jacked on a > daily basis? > > Thank You, |

Re: Continual Hi jacking of my Internet Explorer 7
Hijacked/hacking into my Microsoft Internet Explorer Web Browser means , that
when I am copying and pasting a document onto another web page, problems are occuring in the toolbar on the upper left side of the web page such as, applications are opening when I am trying to copy and paste to another web page and this happens on a continual basis and I performed a search for browsers and I find these files under browsers: panansonic.browser palm.browser nokia.browser jphone.browser go.america.browser ericsson.browser webtv.browser on my windows vista home premium operating system. Re: Continual Hi jacking of my Internet Explorer 7
What anti-virus application was installed prior to the install of "Norton
Protection Center"? What free-trial security applications came preinstalled on the machine when you bought it? If "Norton Protection Center" includes a firewall, you do NOT want the Windows Firewall enabled, too. ================================== => Does this behavior persist if you start IE7 in No Add-ons mode? Are you using something other than Notepad (or other text editor) to modify your .htm files on YOUR host? Are you trying to paste into the input forms in a web page or replace the whole web page? If you are replacing the whole web page, you don't have access to the .htm file on the server to replace it. If you are pasting into an input form within the web page, I have to wonder if you installed a clipboard manager to replace the one included in Windows. Web browsers read and render the content of web pages. They are not editors. Sounds like you are trying to use a web browser as an editor. > problems are > occuring in the toolbar on the upper left side of the web page And that "toolbar" would be WHAT? Some add-on you installed in Internet Explorer? An object in the HTML code for the web page that *looks* like a toolbar? > such as, > applications are opening when I am trying to copy and paste to > another web > page You cannot replace the web page. Its contents are in a file on the web server. You don't have access to the web server. If the .htm file is local (i.e., it is your web page) then the same behavior you note would also occur when pasting into any plain-text application, like Notepad (which is often used to write up .htm files). > and this happens on a continual basis and I performed a search for > browsers and I find these files under browsers: > panansonic.browser > palm.browser > nokia.browser > jphone.browser > go.america.browser > ericsson.browser > webtv.browser > on my windows vista home premium operating system. And WHERE did you search? A Google search will find lots of web browsers. "find these files under browsers". You have a folder named "browsers"? WHERE "on your windows vista" are these files found? |

Aha. Run this removal tool, reboot, and then see if things improve for you:
