Address Blocks in mail merge 2003

Hi,

I'm looking for the field codes that will allow me to create a mail
merge Address Block that will work for several different scenarios.

Ideally the one Address Block could handle all the different
configurations depending on what information was in the database for
each entry. I've tried using {IF} statements but haven't found exactly
what I want yet. I can get close but not quite everything.

These are some of the scenarios I've been thinking about:

1. Addressee and spouse have different last names.

Mr. John A. Doe and Ms. Sally R. Miller
1111 Any Street
Wherever, NY, 00000
USA

2. Addressee and spouse have same last name.

Mr. and Mrs. John Doe
1111 Any Street
Wherever, NY, 00000
USA

3. Addresse and spouse have same last name but NO titles.

John and Sally Doe
1111 Any Street
Wherever, NY, 00000
USA

4. Multiple line address.

Whoever
1111 Any Street
3rd Floor
Wherever, NY, 00000
USA

Thanks,

Sarah

Hi Sarah,

If you're using Word for your mailmerge then you may want to also post the question in the Word Mailmerge discussion group using the

Re: Address Blocks in mail merge 2003

Given the variable nature of the addressee, simply use the entire
contents of the first line as a single line. For instance for number 1.
the data base should contain "Mr. John A. Doe and Ms. Sally R. Miller"
in the field. That will be the only way you will get exactly what you
want. Just stop and think for a minute about all the ones that you
haven't listed, Judges, Senators, same sex partners, etc.
