office repeat crashes on opening

Office 2003 has just started to crash 10 seconds after opening a document. It
then generates an error report, re-opens, then does the same cycle again.
Excel crashes when i try to blod a box or similar action and does like above.
I have formatted the HD, run various virus and spyware scan's reloaded
office on full install and repair type install but no success.
I really hope someone can help

1. Help us help you:
What -- exactly, word-for-word -- is the error message?
2. "blod a box"? is *not* an MS Excel action that I am acquainted with
What -- using MS Excel terminology -- do you mean by "blod a box"?

Steve

Hi Steve
Forgive the typo. it was "Bold" a cell in excel the laptop then locks up for
around 10 seconds thenshuts down and re-starts th message
AppName: excel ece. AppVer 11.0.8169.0 AppStamp: 465f27bd
ModName: hpwspm30.dll ModVer 2.233.6.0 ModStamp: 3f51848f
fDebug: 0 Offset: 00035413
The error box simply says Microsoft Office Excel has encountered a problem
and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience, etc,,,

Re: office repeat crashes on opening

The modname in the error message suggests a problem with the printer
driver for your Hewlett Packard printer. Try deleting and reinstalling
the printer in Start | Control Panel | Printers. While you're at it,
you might check the HP website to see if there is an updated driver
available for your particular printer model.

Hi,
I just followed you suggestion and am stunned as it seems to have worked
incredibly well so far.
