Slow Word and Excel
I have Office 2003 Basic Edition on a Dell system running Win XP Home, SP2. Of late, Word and Excel have become very sluggish. It seems to have started following the installation of the Office 2007 compatibility pack, but I am not too sure of it. If I double-click on a Word document, it takes approximately 25 seconds for it to open. However, if I first launch Word from the start menu and then open the file, it opens immediately, without any delay. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled office, but that did not help. I noticed an interesting thing though after uninstalling office. The system could still recognize the Word and Excel files. When I double clicked on a Word file after uninstalling office, it prompted me to save it as a Word 2007 file. -- jyotimaju ------------------------------------------------------------------------ jyotimaju's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=36319 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=862893 http://forums.techarena.in |
