You need to open the file in Corel Draw and "save as" to another format; or purchase a utility designed to change formats of Corel Draw files. Steve |

Re: How to conver .cdr (CoralDraw) files to another format
Mary,
According to the irfanview.com website, it does not do .cdr files. Do you have experience actually converting a .cdr file? Thanks "Mary Sauer" wrote: > www.irfanview.com will open .cdr images. Re: How to conver .cdr (CoralDraw) files to another format
Well Nils, I went back and tried again, what is happening is Irfanview is
opening the thumbnail Corel creates. I am sorry I mislead you. I can open your .cdr files and convert them to another format. Zip them up and send them along. Let me know what format you prefer. mary-sauer at columbus.rr.com -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com "Nils Titley" <NilsTitley@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:40D32FA6-01DE-4DD4-95E4-BA498C138311@microsoft.com... > Mary, > > According to the irfanview.com website, it does not do .cdr files. It may not work 100% correctly or with all versions of Draw CDR files, but it's worth a try. Insert, Picture from file, choose your CDR and see if it works. If not, try rerunning Setup and choose the optional CDR Graphics filter. Still no joy? You may need to find someone with Corel Draw to open the file and save as something that works for you; usually PNG or EMF works best. -- Steve Rindsberg, PPT MVP PPT FAQ: www.pptfaq.com PPTools: www.pptools.com ================================================ |

Re: How to conver .cdr (CoralDraw) files to another format
Mary, I appreciate your offer but I will need to be able to convert files in
the future. I am sure you don't want me contacting you all the time. I don't think I need CoralDraw for other uses. But thanks for your help. Steve helped solve my problem. A friend had sent me a MS link on how to add the converter to Office. I followed the process but I could not get an image. The document did not provide all the details on how to use. Inserting the picture was the key. When I did that, Word converted the file so that I could at least look at it in Word. Thanks all..
