can you save resumes as .doc format in Microsoft word Professional

I am looking to get a new program. What I need it to be able to do is save
resumes as .doc format. I have Microsoft works 8 and it won't do that. Any
ideas??? I was looking into Microsoft word professional 2007, but i need to
know if it will save like that?

Re: can you save resumes as .doc format in Microsoft word Professional

Word 2007 will, by default, save in a new format which has a file extension of
DOCX. You can do a Save-As and save it in a previous (97-2003) format which will
have the file extension of DOC.

I can confirm that Word 97-2003 (.doc) is one of the "save as" choices
in Works 8.0 word processor.
