Highlighting/ Selection Problems
I'm having a problem with information in my Office documents getting
highlighted when I don't want it to! Not sure if I've got some setting enabled to cause this. I put my cursor on a cell in Excel, or somewhere in a Word document or Outlook e-mail and when I move the cursor around, it automatically highlights the areas I moe it past! Can anyone help? |

Sounds as though you have your Extend Selection turned on. Press your F8
key to toggle it on and off, to see if that helps. -- Dawn Crosier Microsoft MVP "Education Lasts a Lifetime" This message is posted to a newsgroup. Re: Highlighting/ Selection Problems
Thank you Dawn! I've only been using these programs for 15+ years and I never
knew about this - or had this problem before! But I use F7 all the time to spell chack so I'm probably hitting F8 by mistake and enabling that function. I've got a new computer though too - and Vista - and lots of funny things have ben happening since I got it! My MS keyboard is doing weird things - like the space bar often does not work and the hot keys along the top no longer work. Any ideas on that? Re: Highlighting/ Selection Problems
Sorry, I am not aware of those problems, but I know Vista requires
special drivers, so maybe you need to make sure you have the proper drivers for your keyboard? -- Dawn Crosier Microsoft MVP "Education Lasts a Lifetime" This message is posted to a newsgroup.
