Removing product key to transfer Office to another machine
I currently am using my copy of Office on three machines. But I'm getting rid
of an old laptop and want to remove Office so I'll still have my third product key available for another computer in the future. How do I do this? |

Re: Removing product key to transfer Office to another machine
Unlike Adobe, which has an online mechanism for removing the license from a
copy of Acrobat (for example) so it can be licensed on a different computer, Microsoft has no such mechanism. Remove Office from the old laptop and install it onto the the one. If you cannot proceed with activation, follow the instructions for telephone activation, and explain the circumstances. They will (I've never heard of them saying "no") provide you with the needed activation information. -- Herb Tyson MS MVP Author of the Word 2007 Bible Blog: http://word2007bible.herbtyson.com Web: http://www.herbtyson.com "AllyK" <AllyK@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:4DB03702-C420-4F17-95F9-A7E083FB6DC0@microsoft.com... >I currently am using my copy of Office on three machines.
