Deleting Outlook attachments

We have a MS Exchange 2007 server and a user with Outlook 2003. The user is
an exec with a ton of items in his Sent folder that have attachments. He does
not want to archive, but to reduce the size of his Sent folder he wants to
delete attachments from the sent items.

Does anyone know how this can be done? Also, if it can be done, can it be
done and leave the name of the attachment in the email?

Thanks for any help.
DVS

Re: Deleting Outlook attachments

There are a number of third party tools which will remove attachments and if
required store them outside OL on the hd with a link in the origonal mail to
that attachment

I trialed the MapiLab one, it worked fine, allthough in the end I decided I
dont receive enough attachments or large mail to warrant it.
I was able to reattach to the origonal mail before I uninstalled
