Outlook 2007 Searching?

Ok when I expand the search bar for Outllook 2007 all the options are grayed
out. WTF?

I do not want to enable "Instant Seach" as this installing Windows Search
3.0, which changes how windows itself searches; and I hate it.

Are there any other options?

Why remove functionality from a newer version of software? Oh wait, it's MS
and they like to do that and screw people over.

Windows Search 3 is INFINITELY better than what it replaces. Why do you hate
it?

Re: Outlook 2007 Searching?

I like the old search, worked just fine.

I hate how MS makes changes that it requires for pervious functionality to
work. The GUI for the new search is horrible.
