After update (7-19-08), M2007 no longer connects to internet.
I do not use MSN Money My Accounts (Live ID downloads). After
installing a Money update on 7-19 (prompted at login to do so), Money seems to have forgotten how to contact the internet. No connection to MS online quote server and it acts like all the server addresses for my financial institutions (who provide free direct server access) are wrong. It gives this error # OFXIE2007 for the financial institution failures (no error # for failure to connect to quote server). No other connection issues outside or this new Money problem. Anybody else having such an issue or know of a solution? |

Thanks. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/193625 says 12007 ERROR_INTERNET_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED The server name could not be resolved. Do you use Zone Alarm? If so, there was a recent Zone Alarm update to fix a problem. Try setting to "medium" and trying again. Also consider setting your firewall to give a pop-up to ask about access rather than silently blocking access. Once you see what is being blocked, add the site to your trusted sites in your firewall. The things below are some things you could try if you don't have a firewall blocking things. Start Money 2007 by right-clicking the launch icon and choosing RunAsAdministrator. After any potential updates, reboot the computer. In IE Tools->InternetOptions->Advanced see if it helps to disable TLS 1.0. |

Interesting error code list. I have bookmarked it. Thanks Cal. > > Do you use Zone Alarm? If so, there was a recent Zone Alarm update > to fix a problem. Try setting to "medium" and trying again. In my case, not using Zone Alarm and my firewall is set to report blocking, which it hasn't been doing. > > The things below are some things you could try if you don't have a > firewall blocking things. Didn't have to do these latter--below, as simply adding a few domain names to the list of Trusted sites in IE did the trick. Found the list here: http://money.mvps.org/faq/article/466.aspx but other sites seems to have same info. They all forget to re-check "Require server verification." which I did. However, I don't know if this is necessary. (It must be unchecked in order to add sites.) I already had most of these listed (from previous MS support call). Don't know which are the operational ones--anyone experiment with that? > > Start Money 2007 by right-clicking the launch icon and choosing > RunAsAdministrator.
