Your sign-in information doesn't match the bank's records
Money is having difficulty connecting to my bank (First Internet Bank of
Indiana) to direct download my transactions. This was working until about a month ago, but then suddenly stopped. I am running Money Plus Delux 17.0.120.1415 on XP. My other accounts (AmEx, brokerage accounts, etc. work properly). I have tried following the steps: 1) support message http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905695/en-us 2) uninstalling zone alarm 3) uninstalling microsoft updates for the past 2 months 4) booting in safe mode with networking 5) having my bank delete my online account, and reestablishing but in all instances I recevie an error that my account # and/or Pin is incorrect. I think I am actually reaching the bank, because after several attempts to connect my bank locks my account due to too many failed login attempts. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. FYI I can log into the bank without issue using IE7 from my PC. Thanks |

I am pleased to say that they appear to provide an actual OFX server. This is a bit of a long shot, but I would try this: In Internet Explorer 7, click the Tools button, click Internet Options, click the Advanced tab, clear the Use TLS v1.0 check box, and then click OK. Another thing you could try is in a command window *just* after requesting the update, execute the netstat command. Then in IE7, see if you get a proper certificate indication. I tried https://ofx.firstib.com/ but that wasn't it. The point would be to try an https connection with both your computer and a different computer. They should both get a valid certificate indication and the same error page from the server -- an error is expected since that is not how the OFX server was expecting to be accessed. > >I am running Money Plus Delux 17.0.120.1415 on XP. > >My other accounts (AmEx, brokerage accounts, etc. work properly). I wonder if during your tests, you could avoid the problem of having too many failed login attempts by logging on to the bank's website correctly between tries. I don't know if they use the same authentication server for the OFX signin vs the web signin or not. > Any suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. > >FYI I can log into the bank without issue using IE7 from my PC. > >Thanks |

Re: Your sign-in information doesn't match the bank's records
Cal, Thanks for the suggestions, but unfortunately no luck. I did try the netstat, and received a site of xdi.diginsite.com. In the netstat it also indicated that the state was ESTABLISHED. I tried to pull up the site with ie, but just received a http 500 error. Also in rereading my message I realized my password lock issue wasn't very clear. If I use the correct sign-in information I receive a message that my userid or PIN is invalid, but the system will NOT lock my account. I can retry as many times as I want. If I put in the wrong password, however, it will lock me after 3 attempts. Thus it appears as if it recognizes my correct credentials, but will not let me in. Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Once again thanks for your help, Robert |

I see your point that the path must be working and that the certificates are allowing decoding. > Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Once again >thanks for your help, You will want to make log files. They are tricky to decode. Typically there will be two *RQ.txt (request) and two *RS.txt files for the bank. The thing following <SEVERITY> in the second *RS.txt file may be informative-- I suspect it will say ERROR. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911941/en-us tells how to capture log files. Maybe create a new XP administrative user, and create a new blank Money file as that user. Try setting up online access to the bank. The theory is that the new user would get new default settings. |

Re: Your sign-in information doesn't match the bank's records
Cal,
You are correct, I mistyped the address. It should have been ofxdi.diginsite.com. When I try that URL in IE7 Ireceive the message Established, but receive a 404 ierror in IE. If I try just ofx.diginsite.com I receive SYN_SENT, but a message that ie can't display the webpage. I also created a new XP user, established a new Money file and recreated the bank account but received the same message. Finally I created a trace of my connection, and received the following information: OFXHEADER:100 DATA:OFXSGML VERSION:102 SECURITY:NONE ENCODING:USASCII CHARSET:1252 COMPRESSION:NONE OLDFILEUID:NONE NEWFILEUID:AA*** <OFX><SIGNONMSGSRSV1><SONRS> <STATUS><CODE>0<SEVERITY>INFO<MESSAGE>SUCCESS</STATUS> <DTSERVER> 20080724103557.317[-7:PDT] <LANGUAGE>ENG<FI><ORG>DI<FID>***</FI> </SONRS></SIGNONMSGSRSV1><SIGNUPMSGSRSV1><ACCTINFOTRNRS> <TRNUID>*****<STATUS> <CODE>15500<SEVERITY>ERROR</STATUS></ACCTINFOTRNRS></SIGNUPMSGSRSV1></OFX> does this help at all? thanks again for your time, Robert |

><CODE>15500<SEVERITY>ERROR</STATUS></ACCTINFOTRNRS></SIGNUPMSGSRSV1></OFX> That <CODE>15500 would be a Signon Invalid error. That is certainly a match for "Your sign-in information doesn't match the bank's records". So it's not some kind of path error. http://www.ofx.net/DownloadPage/Files/OFX1.6.zip has the relevant OFX spec. The ofx16.pdf in the zip file is the spec. Section 2.5.1.3 has the Status Codes I would have wonder if the bank did not have a different password for OFX vs web access, except that it used to work for you. Maybe if the authentication servers somehow got out of sync, you could change your password (, and maybe even change it back). You might also pass the log file back to support at the bank. They might use that to check with some other consultant they deal with. |
