upgrading OE to Outlook2007 - messages duplicated!
OK!! After the upgrade to Outlook 2007, which imports messages, folders,
etc... just fine, I recieve all messages again. I have the OE settings turned on for "keep a copy of messages on the server", and "remove from server when deleted from deleted items". The server is IMAIL8.20-POP3/SMTP. How can I upgrade to Outlook 2007, keeping all messages and folders in tact, without 'core dumping' all messages back to my INBOX???? |

Aside from the fact that Outlook is not an "upgrade" for Outlook Express, this group probably has no actual Outlook expertise. I use Outlook Express on occasion, but I have not used Outlook in years (and when I did, I was just an employee, who had no authorization to futz with configuration settings). Re: upgrading OE to Outlook2007 - messages duplicated!
The leave a copy on the server is the problem. Any particular reason
you are doing that? When you do that, each mail client is going to download all the mail still on the server. You have several workarounds. Remove all the mail from OE that is still on the server. You'd have to figure out which mails that means. Possibly everything except your sent items and any mail from prior accounts. If you have web mail access, and can crate user folders on the server, move all mail in the Inbox to a user folder on the server. Those probably won't get downloaded by Outlook. Delete all the old mail on the server so Outlook won't download it. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Mark Jessup" <mjessup@court.state.il.us> wrote in message news:uc$Ma4N7IHA.4204@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > OK!!
