Transfer e-mails from one to another?

Hi:
There are two PCs in my family rooms.
I want to transfer some of e-mails from one computer
to another computer.

Both PCs has XP Home Edition with almost identical features

If capable, how to accomplish on e-mails transfer?

Is has been a long time since someone posted with an unpatched version of
OE.
You need to go to Windows Update.

Nice catch.
Unpatched OE and unpatched WinXP.
'violet' is asking for trouble. Same answer to her question though.

Re: Transfer e-mails from one to another?

Hi:
Thanks both for the responses.

Wonder whether there is a device, like USB hooked up
could the job, transfer one PC to another?

Because, in the past I did try by using the site you offerring,
however I couldn't finish it.

I'm looking for some 'good' device that able to connect two
PCs for transfer e-mails.

Thanks,

This is how I do it within Outlook Express (OE):
-in the first PC OE 'Local Folders' make a new folder called say
"PCtransfer"
-in the second PC OE 'Local Folders' make a new folder called say
"PCtransfer"
-in the first PC OE move or copy the emails that you wish to transfer into
this folder.
-shut down OE in both PCs
-in the first PC find the file "PCtransfer.dbx" using My Computer and copy
it.
-in the second PC find the file "PCtransfer.dbx" using My Computer and
replace it with the "PCtransfer.dbx" from the first PC.
-open the second PC OE and you will find the transferred emails in the
"PCtransfer" folder.
-move them to the inbox or wherever and you will have achieved your aim.

Two minor additions:
After making a new folder, open the new folder before closing OE.
Make sure the transferred file is not read only.

Re: Transfer e-mails from one to another?

It would be cheaper to buy a USB flash drive than a USB transfer cable.

OK, I'll bite. I think I know how you picked up on unpatched OE but how did
you catch the OS?

Re: Transfer e-mails from one to another?

The message headers for one, but the fact that Violet said:

<QP>
Both PCs has XP Home Edition with almost identical features and programs
loaded.
</QP>

Well, that kinda gave it away. <wink>
