Receiving partial Imbedded Images
I have an unusual problem. It only happens with one email address I send to.
When I send an imbedded image, they only receive a partial image and then the rest of it is just gray. I use IE7 and outlook express on XP Professional. Any thoughts? |

Re: Receiving partial Imbedded Images
They are not large images. The message begins with some text then an image
that on full screen viewing is about 2" wide and 3" high. I send these out to numerous addresses, but only one has a problem and then not all the time. Just some emails. Since they are imbedded, I forward the message instead of copy and paste in a new message. Outlook express doesn't like to copy and paste imbedded messages. They always send as red x in the upper left corner. Re: Receiving partial Imbedded Images
I also send and receive in HTML, if that is any help.

Re: Receiving partial Imbedded Images
Tools, Accounts, Mail, Properties, Advanced. Uncheck the break apart
option. If your message is over the size listed there, it would send in multiple parts (you'll see only the whole message in your Sent Items folder). For recipients using Outlook Express, and possibly some other mail programs, the multiple parts would be automatically reassembled on their end. for others, they'd only get part of the image. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Knightmare" <Knightmare@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:0EF07B0A-0DED-415E-8995-2B629D302D18@microsoft.com... >I also send and receive in HTML, if that is any help. > > "Knightmare" wrote: > >> They are not large images. Re: Receiving partial Imbedded Images
I did a copy and paste and sent this to the person that is having a problem
with my imbedded pictures. I checked my Account info out and do not have an x in the box to break the message apart. Some of the messages I have sent are only 100-200k in size, so I don't think that is the problem. I am having them check their end out to see if it might not be their problem. As of right now, I only know they use XP Professional, but don't know what they are using for send and receive. Thanks. "Michael Santovec" wrote: > Tools, Accounts, Mail, Properties, Advanced. Re: Receiving partial Imbedded Images
If you look at the Message Source (Ctrl-F3) for an e-mail from them, in
the header there will usually be an X-Mailer or User-Agent line that identifies their mail program. The symptom they are reporting is typical of when an image file gets truncated, which is why I suspected the break apart option. The front of the file has the image size and when the display program runs out of image, it displays the gray for the rest of it. If you were using Uuencode then there is the possibility of the incompatibility with OE sending to Netscape. But since you are sending in HTML format, it requires MIME encoding, so that shouldn't be the issue. So that puts the suspicion on the recipient's end that something might be truncating their messages. Do they report problems receiving from anyone else? Potential causes could be the download process getting interrupted, their anti-virus program scanning e-mail or an anti-spam program. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "Knightmare" <Knightmare@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:769D68AB-B96C-4074-8AEC-DAC09B4E9E25@microsoft.com... >I did a copy and paste and sent this to the person that is having a >problem > with my imbedded pictures.
