Can't start outlook 2007

Hi,
I have office 2007 installed. I had around 7 profiles configured in
outlook. No matter what profile I select, it takes way too long for
outlook to start.

I have removed the Messenger folder from the program files folder,
disabled all the third party add-ins. Even after this the same behavior.

Then I un-installed office and installed it again. Actually before
installing it again I forgot to remove the folders in Application Data
and Local Settings folders, registry settings and the profiles. But then
I deleted it and tried creating new profile. I hung during creating new
profile. Even now it takes too much time.

Any reason why this is happening?

Re: Can't start outlook 2007

You removed the folders and registry keys after re-installing?
Start with doing a repair on Office, you've probably broken something this
way causing even more issues to begin with.

Once everything is back the way it should;
Which mail account types are we talking about here?
How many accounts are there configured in the mail profiles?
Does it work correctly in Outlook Safe Mode?
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /safe

Re: Can't start outlook 2007

If many of those 7 are either on the same server or are IMAP accounts, it
will take a long time for outlook to appear to fully load when you have it
set to check email automatically as it begins to check mail before it
finishes loading and the check mail process slows it down.

You need to repair your install (help, office diagnostics) then try a new
profile in control panel, mail.

Re: Can't start outlook 2007

Hi Roady/Diane,

Thanks for your reply
Even in safe mode the outlook took the same amount of time. With
registry entries I meant only account related and third party add-ins
related.

This is what I tried after the last post.

-Removed all profiles.
-un-installed office 2007.
-Removed all outlook & relevant office registry keys + all folders from
app data and Local settings folder.
-restarted system, Installed office 2007 again.
- Created a single profile with just 2 gmail account.
- Outlook hung on creating a new pst file, it had to be killed and PST
manually added from the mail control panel applet
-----------Again the outlook took the same time------

-Removed all profiles.
- Then un-installed office 2007,
- Removed all outlook & relevant office registry keys + all folders from
app data and Local settings folder.
- restarted and installed Office 2003 (version 11)
- Created a single profile with just 1 gmail account.
- Outlook hung on creating a new pst file, it had to be killed and PST
manually added from the mail control panel applet
-----------Again the outlook took the same(or more) time------

In both the attempts no third party add-ins were installed (confirmed
from registry) and even the safe mode took the same time.

I really don't understand what the issue is.
